It’s always nice to be early for something and get rewarded. Optimism, the layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum just issued their governance token, $OP. The token was airdropped to users who interacted with the network. I started using Optimism for this project called, “The Dope Wars,” and it was a perfect fit. The Dope Wars game would be extremely expensive if utilized on the Ethereum Network because of all the transactions associated with buying and selling items, changing character gear or appearance. Something that would have cost hundreds of dollars on ETH was achieved for only a few dollars on Optimism. It came as a great surprise when Optimism made public their intention of airdropping users of the network. My 1186 token airdrop (screenshot below) was worth 1 ETH ($1900) and my interactions with Optimism were minimal. Some users reported getting airdropped thousands of tokens, even saw a screenshot of 7,000 tokens airdropped to a user. Go check to see if you received an airdrop!

So what’s next? Wen more monies? Well, I’d place my bet on Arbitrum 1, which is a layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum. They currently do not have a governance token for their network and with the emergence of DAO’s and voting power, one can only imagine a token will be created for the network and would hopefully be distributed in a fashion similar to Optimism. So bridge some funds over to Arbitrum and do a few swaps, buy some NFT’s, borrow/lend, donate to grants and network development. Do this a couple times a week and you could be rewarded with a handsome airdrop. It’s worth a shot at least.
